The 6th Annual Asia Clean Energy Forum is set to launch next week in Manila, Philippines with the tagline: “Accelerating Low-Carbon Energy For All”. With a focus on energy access, finance, technology and energy policy, the forum is the flagship event for the Asian Development Bank.
The Forum’s focus this year is especially timely as the clean energy theme coincides with “The Year of Clean Energy For All” announced by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. From June 4-8, Manila will play host to numerous dignitaries, policymakers, financiers, and scientists.
Workshops and sessions planned include: “Regional Forums on Greenhouse Gas Inventories”, a dialogue on policy, law, and regulation related to clean energy access, hosted by USAID and the ADB, “Quantum Leap In Wind” workshop, and an international workshop on “Innovative Financing Mechanisms for Access to Energy”.
What do you think about the forum – and are there missing links in approaching the challenge of providing access to clean energy for all? What is your organization doing to boost the UN’s commitment to “Clean Energy for All”?
